Snippet

"Oh, it sure would be nice to make love to my wife," my husband murmured, spooning me as his hand slid over and cupped my breast. He pulled me closer.

"It has been a while," I agreed, sighing softly as our bodies contacted each other.

Our door opened, and our little one came zombieing in, whining, launching himself over my husband to plant his big melon of a head between us. His body followed, sliding down, keeping us separated. He was asleep before he even settled.

"What, did I summon him?" my husband asked. We laughed, but with an undercurrent of frustration.

Such is life as parents.

Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!

  1. Its like they have Doppler Radar or something. Happens to us all the time. We have even snuck our and spread out on the floor in the kids room but then we are only half into it because we are listening for whichever kid is in our bed alone. Better luck next time.

  2. It's so hard sometimes! I don't want to wish away these times, but uninhibited sex can surely be hard to come by! :)

  3. Don't you love how they just throw themselves into the MIDDLE of you?? It's like, WTF, I was just snuggling MY Husband, here!! But then you look at that not-so-little angelic invader... awwww. Though there have been times where I've gotten up and walked around to the other side of the bed to re-snuggle my husband.

And yes, dear husband...did you not know that "make love to my wife" is code to kids for SNUGGLE WITH THE PARENTS!! hehehehe

    1. Girl, I don't even know how he manages to throw himself right between us when he's mostly asleep. Usually Husband will move 'round to my side to re-snuggle me, if the munchkin cannot be dislodged otherwise.

But this munchkin will come right in the middle of us any old time. Like he goes there or something. Today, we told him "Dude, look, we go together. Like magnets. Coming between us is likely to get you squashed."

      He just giggled.

  5. Every Single Freakin' Time! I swear every Saturday or Sunday morning that we were feeling frisky, kid was in our bed before I could get up to lock the door. But on mornings when we were just sleeping in, or when we got up early to do stuff, kid kept sleeping away, even with the vacuum cleaning running in the hall!

Finally we had to say No Kid Allowed on Sunday mornings (Saturdays we're usually up early running around so nothing much happens then anyway). Kid isn't even allowed to knock on the door and ask permission to go downstairs and make a mess. Kid can't touch the door, the bed, or us on Sunday mornings until we get up for breakfast.

I don't know how old your little fella is, but we started this at 7. Wish we'd done it sooner, I'd say school age is just the right time because they understand the rhythms of a work week better. Good luck!

    1. He's just gone 5. It's a little tough - but sometimes now he will play with Lego for hours and hours.

Another blogger gave me the "once you get us up, it's chore time" idea - but ... we kind of don't like chores either.

Glad to hear you worked something out to save the frustration. It gives hope. :)

    1. I love mine dearly - but... yeah, not always great. Good for a laugh later, though!

      I really recommend a flogger. :)
